Bill Horn and Scout Masterson (known as “The Guncles“) threw a delicious party for their daughter Simone’s third birthday last weekend. The magnificent dessert table and fun eats were prepared by the talented Jenny Keller; the below images will give you a taste of how scrumptious everything was. The theme of the party was based on one of Simone’s favorite Disney shows, Doc McStuffins, and the birthday girl wore a white “Doc Simone” jacket much of the day. The decorations were cute and clever and also very DIY friendly, so if you need to decorate for a young one’s upcoming birthday party, take mental notes. After photographing her second birthday last year, I’m grateful to have been there to photo-celebrate Simone turning a year older! On April 28th, I was blessed to photograph a most divine wedding celebration. Corrie & Renie were wed at Heavenly Pond, a hidden gem located in Franklin Canyon Park. Love was all encompassing: from the vibrant guests to the exotic birds in the pond to the majestic sun rays shining down on Corrie and Renie during the ceremony. It was magical to say the least. As you can see, the wedding was very stylized and mostly decorated by Corrie and Renie themselves, as they opted out of hiring a wedding coordinator. Going for a vintage wine vineyard meets Gatsby look, they began preparing a year in advance. They ordered furniture from Archive Vintage Rentals and set everything up themselves. Corrie and Renie’s company, MiddleBar, supplied all the delicious cocktails and “mocktails,” catering to both alcohol and non-alcohol drinkers. They tied flowers and stenciled descriptions onto all the mason jars and wrote special messages on chalkboards, giving everything a unique and personal feel. Renie took care of all the music by creating an iTunes playlist that began during the ceremony and played throughout the reception. She also surprised Corrie by hiring The Mudbug Brass Band, a Los Angeles-based group with a Louisiana vibe. The delicious food and desserts were catered by Market Catering. Chef and owner Bret Thompson did an exceptional job running the show, and the food was to die for! Renie and friends arranged all the flowers. Her dad provided a vintage Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud that he drove the just-married couple away in for some quality alone time immediately following the processional. Paul Royalty with Royalty Electrics lit up the evening with gorgeous lighting, creating a beautiful ambience for reception fun and dancing. Thank you to everyone involved for helping to create such asthetically pleasing images! Mazel Tov to Corrie and Renie. Your love is truly inspiring and will continue to touch many lives for years to come.
